MyGosu doesn't work for me I'm afraid. I'm about to throw in the towel for this extension but I have one last question.

I realized that the click-trans menu might be the best option for me. Only problem is that I need to have "force overlay" activated, and just like you mentioned - it messes up my template. So, is there a way around this?

*edit* If I don't activate force overlay, my secondary sub-menus don't show at all.

If I use indent with a Bullet in sub menu the text does not indent properly.

http://www.ergonomie-advies.nl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13&Itemid=3

Is there a way to make it work?

My second question is about the layout.
Is is possible to make the left menu look more like the standard rhuk_milkyway menu layout, that looks much better.

Hi,

Thanks for releasing SWmenu 7.2, i did not think there would ever be a new release after 6.5 to be honest  Grin

I have a issue with SWmenu pro 7.2 and the new Joomla 1.6 beta 9. When trying to create a menu i get:

Code:
Fatal error: Call to a member function getCfg() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/MYSITE/httpdocs/test_site/administrator/components/com_swmenupro/admin.swmenupro.php on line 369

Would it be possible that there will be made a version for 1.6 beta's, or are you waiting until 1.6 stable has been released.

You should only use the "force overlay" as a last resort.  It can effect the way a template works.  In the case of a tranmenu it will change all the parent CSS to the menu to have a position:static; CSS which will wreck some templates.

If your menu module works without the "force overlay" then don't use it.

However, in the case of a myGosu menu or superfish menu then the force overlay only changes all parent CSS to overflow:visisble; which does not affect most templates.

I would strongly suggest using the new myGosu menu system, the on in swMenuPro7.2 has all the same orientations as the transmenu, plus the submenu indicators and submenu transition effects.  Plus it will definately be read by any search engine crawl program, and will work in pretty much any template and browser.

I am currently working on virtuemart Itemid issues.  Which is a problem as virtuemart menu items don't exist in the jos_menu table, and that's where the page list comes from.

You have a few options.  There are the conditional statements on the right of the pages list.  You could set the module to show on all pages then change the component option to com_virtuemart.  That way the menu will only display on pages whwre the virtuemart component is displaying.  Or if it's a seperate template you could set the template condition so it only shows in that template.

You do have to disable the menu module name if using the condition features as joomla writes that before swMenuPro runs.

Another option is to create a unique module position in the second template and publish the menu module there.

Dear Sean

I have a site - http://hive.ywdw.co.uk - where the client wants 2 menus - a 'Main Menu' that is shown on every page and a 'shop' menu, which is only shown either when selecting 'Products' from the main menu or when browing the 'shop' itself.

I have created 2 swmenus for the purpose - one dealing with the 'Main Menu' and the menu module is selected to be shown on every page.  I have then created vm menu items for each of the vm categories.  There is also a separate template for the 'shop'

The other swmenu takes the vm_categories as its source.  If I select 'All' for the module display options then the menu shows on every page.  However, if I restrict the pages where it should appear to the 'products' menu item from the main menu and the vm categories then the menu disappears.

I would be grateful if you could have a look at this and see if you can discover an pobvious place where we are going wrong.

This is a test site so if it would be helpful for you to have access to the compnenets then I am delighted to oblige.

Many thanks

Mike

Hi Sean,

Two thumbs up for your new version. I have two new problems now however.

1. Using trans as main menu in the left position, my secondary submenus stretch over to the article content section. Before the activation of Force Overlay these menus had a white background which did not allow the article content to shine through. Now there seems to be a transparency issue. Sorry for my layman terms.

2. After Force Overlay there is now also a strange issue with the width of the secondary submenus. If I hover any more than a few millimeters to the right of the secondary sub-menu title, the menu closes.

Perhaps you need to have a look at my site in order to understand. I hope you still have my pm with the details.

Thanks in advance

Best regards
Marcus

SWmenuPro 7.2 is now ready for download.

Users can now log into this website and download the latest swMenuPro7.2 from the "paid downloads" page. The new swMenuPro7.2 has many new features including a major overhaul of the myGosu menu system. It also has many CSS fixes and new features added to the other menu systems.

If you have lost your login details then please try the "lost password" form first to reset your own password.  Username and Email address should be the same as the paypal email address you used at the time of purchase.  If you still cannot login and download files then email me and I will reset your login.

New Features:

The myGosu Menu:

* Added horizontal/up, horizontal/down/left, and vertical/left menu orientations.

* Added support for multiple colored submenu indicators.

* Added auto position submenu feature to reposition submenus if they would otherwise overlap the viewable page.

Force Overlay Feature :
The new force overlay feature fixes a multitude of submenu overlay problems when using the myGosu, superfish, tigra, trans, or click-trans menu systems.  In most cases enabling this feature will instantly make your menus overlay all other page elements.

New Fixes:
* The module positions list
* Custom CSS setting "show menu item = no" when editing custom CSS

Installation Instructions:

Automatic Upgrade
If you have swMenuPro6.3 or above then you should be able to perform the automatic upgrade.  Click the "upgrade/repair swMenuPro" link in the top right corner of the swMenuPro admin.  Browse to the com_swmenupro7.2.zip file that you have downloaded from the "paid downloads" page on the www.swmenupro.com website when logged in, and upload it.  swMenuPro will automatically upgrade your component and module without losing any current style settings.  Refresh the browser after upgarding so swMenuPro starts using the new style sheet and javascript files, it will also be necessary to refresh your browser the first time you go into an swMenuPro editing screen so the new javascript files are used instead of the older ones which are usually stored in you browsers cache.

Manual Upgrade
If you have a swMenuPro prior to version 6.3 or have used ftp to change swMenuPro files or file permissions then you need to perform the manual upgrade.

unzip com_swmenupro7.2.zip file and upload all files over top of files in
administrator/components/com_swmenupro folder.

Also upload all contents from the modules folder of the zip file to the root
/modules folder of your Joomla/mambo installation and rename the /modules/mod_swmenupro/mod_swmenupro.sw file to mod_swmenupro.xml.

Click on the upgrade/repair swMenuPro Link on the top right side.  swMenuPro will then automatically update the database tables. If you have an older version without the "upgrade repair link" then type this URL into your browser after uploading the files and logging into the admin of your site. www.yourdomain.com/administrator/index2.php?option=com_swmenupro&task=upgrade replace "yourdomain.com" with your sites root URL.

Refresh the browser after upgarding so swMenuPro starts using the new style sheet.

New Install
If doing a new install then just install the zip file normally using the inbuilt
joomla component installer, module will also install automatically when component installs as long as the /modules folder is writable.
